Getting Rid Of Toxins
Recognizing the Energy Around Us
While in school for massage therapy, one of the things I learned about is energy. Energy is a natural part of our world, but most people only perceive the unnatural means that it is utilized for our daily conveniences. They don’t understand that every single thing around us is energy. Buildings that appear solid and hard, metals, rocks, even grains of sand; all is energy. Furthermore, most people don’t recognize the Lord of Light (energy) as the spiritual, energetic being that he is, worthy of all praise and glory.
Ever notice how all things reach upward towards Him? I know that most people think the light source for the earth is the sun, but ever wonder what powers the sun? Understanding the connectedness of energy; how it links us to God and our own bodies, will bring us a long way towards understanding our bodies and being able to prevent sickness and disease.
Personal Power
You will have a new view of your personal power, which will help you to understand what generates it-making it stronger; and what makes it weak, which will increase the loss of energy. Understanding the language of energy allows you to see your own spirit in your body. This is because certain emotional and spiritual stresses or dis-eases are the root cause of all sickness. Furthermore, some emotional and spiritual crisis line up and correspond with specific problems in certain parts of the body.
Sometimes, healing does not always mean that the physical body recovers from an illness. Healing can also mean that there are some long-held fears and negative thoughts towards yourself or others. Releasing the negative energy in the spirit can bring about healing internally that can occur even though one’s body may be dying physically. Preferably, we would all discover the toxic energies stored in our bodies, and work towards changing our lives, environments and attitudes, so that our bodies can recover long before illness has a chance to settle in.
Desperate
Carla was a desperate, forty year old mother of four, who didn’t believe she’d live to see her kids reach adulthood. She had been to multiple doctors who had put her on numerous medications for conditions they claimed she had, from lupus and Lyme disease to rheumatoid arthritis. She was just about to order a wheelchair, as her swollen joints and knee pain had become progressively worse and was now excruciating.
After simple muscle tests were done by a naturalistic doctor, her “knee” problem was pinpointed as stemming from chronic kidney imbalance. The imbalance, compounded with the medications, and her unhealthy diet had amplified the stress to her energy-depleted organs, to the point where she could barely walk. In order to treat this problem, Carla needed acupuncture, some vitamin, mineral and herbal supplementation, and a simple detoxification through dietary changes, along with some other treatment to her organs in order to treat the problem.
Today, she is symptom free, medication free, and the idea of her being in a wheelchair is unthinkable. She exercises, and takes care of herself and her children by preparing healthy meals. She has a renewed sense of self-confidence because she now knows and trusts her body’s power to heal itself. (Excerpt from “Your Body Can Talk”)

Up To You
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” Thomas Edison.
“We are all under-exercised as a nation. We look instead of play. We ride instead of walk. Our existence deprives us of the minimum of physical activity essential for healthy living.” John F. Kennedy.
“What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.” Rules For Being Human, Anonymous.
The Energy Connection
The first thing anyone needs to recognize is their connection to the energy all around them. If you don’t recognize the Source of that energy, then your recognition of the energy is only half of the picture. Many people attempt to operate and utilize the energy without recognizing the Source, but in order to effectively move and operate in natural flow of energy; in order to truly understand it, you must know the Originator. That is true in anything. Knowing the originator of anything, gives you insight as to the original intent and purpose, which then increases your potential in your use of whatever the object is.
This would be tantamount to knowing someone like Steve Jobs, at the time when he first created the Ipad and Iphone. Being able to have conversations with him would give you as the consumer a better idea and understanding of how to operate that technology, and how to enhance your life with it. It is the same with God. Having a relationship with the Creator of all, would give any person a greater insight on life. Knowing how to utilize and interpret the instruction manual (the bible) that He left for us, would enable us to operate all the tools and resources He has provided to make our lives successful, and productive. We would know our purpose, and be able to fulfill it.
The First Step
The first step in getting rid of toxins is to not only recognize the Creator, but also, to humble yourself completely to Him, submitting yourself and making Him Lord of your life. Once you have this revelation and start to build and develop your relationship with Him, He will teach you all things that you need to know to change your life. But just to prove the effectiveness of this knowledge of God, I’ll give you another example: myself.
Fear and Worry
About ten years ago, I was under so much stress that my right shoulder and arm began having an intense amount of pain. Yes, I’ve had this problem since the time mentioned here, as I’ve written about it already. I did what most people do, I just tried to ignore the pain, and go on, because there was so much that I had to do and take care of. At that point, I had been a single mom for 4 years without help or assistance from my ex-husband. Child support had failed to be an effective force in obtaining support, so I had to handle everything on my own.
In addition, I had lost my main source of income the year after I separated from my ex-husband. I had already been forced to move 3 times in that year as a result of that loss of income. My ex-husband had taken money from our joint account, leaving me with a rent check that could not clear. My son was 2 years old when all of this started occurring, and I was determined that he would not feel the effects; at least not on a physical level, of his father’s absence. I wanted to protect him from it all, and I did my best to do so on all levels. If this meant that he stayed with my mother and I slept in my car, so be it; whatever it took.
So by the time this pain in my shoulder began happening, I had been going through this stress for four years already. Now, mind you, I had lost a lot, but I also gained a lot. I was basically thrown into a wilderness situation. I had no choice but to learn to trust. God was using my circumstance to teach me, and what did I learn? I learned that He is always there, even when things are not going the way we expect them to. He’s always there, and He always provides for His own. He IS trust worthy.
Trusting
The problem for most people in trusting Him is often due to their own misplaced or misinterpreted expectations of Him or other people. When the reality does not match their expectations, they feel hurt and assume that God is not there, or ask, “Where is God?” When trust is gone, people withdraw. They physically tighten up and pull away. That’s the worst thing you can do with God. First, it deprives you of too much. Second, God does not operate based on our expectations of Him. Oftentimes, He is there to help us through a difficult situation, while we are thinking he’s not there at all simply because we are suffering. We look at what we have been deprived of, or what we don’t have, and never, in our distress do we recognize what we do have that wasn’t taken from us.
God operates according to His divine will, and we have to learn to adjust our expectations accordingly. Only then will we see the blessings and victories that He will give us. Yet, I had not grown into a place of total trust in the view of what my natural eyes could see. My faith was a burgeoning thing, and most certainly, my faith in myself was pretty shattered. So I was very distressed about the economics of my life. The result of this excessive worrying and fear brought on 2 conditions of “dis-ease.”
“Dis-ease”
The first, which I will no doubt talk about more in another related article, had to do with my liver. The second, subsequent result in my body was the excruciating pain that developed in my right arm and shoulder. At the time of the situation with my arm, I had been told about a certain natural doctor, who happened to be friends with my brother and his wife. This man, a chiropractor, has a spiritual gift, in which he can see the spiritual problem that is the source of the physical malady.
This doctor is located at the corner of Andrews avenue and Commercial Blvd., for those of you that are local in Ft. Lauderdale. His name is Dr. Jeff Middleton. At the point in which I first called him, I was calling after hours, so I left the following message: “Hi. I’m not calling to make an appointment. I’m in too much pain to wait for an appointment. I’m just calling to warn you that I’m coming.”
The Adjustment
He and his wife were very gracious, and he took me as a walk-in, in between his scheduled patients, without much of a wait time. He observed my son and I, as I was talking to him; while I was pouring out all the these subconscious thoughts and issues that I wasn’t consciously awarewas troubling me. After about an hour of listening, observing and asking a few questions, he pulled out his bible and gave me three scriptures, which he wrote down on a piece of paper. He stated that he was not going to make any adjustments at that time, but that my problem was that I “think too much.” He just gave me the scriptures and sent me home.
Now, I’m sure you know I was puzzled. Naturally, I had to know what those three scriptures referred to, so I immediately looked them up. Now, I can’t remember all of them, but one I do recall. It was “Lean not on your own understanding.” So I wanted to know how I was thinking too much. After all, how does one stop thinking? And, how was I leaning on my own understanding?
Well, just looking at that scripture alone did not answer these questions. I had to search it out through cross referencing several times; including cross referencing several of the sub-scriptural references I got in the process. But as soon I saw a scripture that I understood and had a light bulb moment, some of my pain disappeared. I searched out all three scriptures, and a degree of my pain dissipated.
The following week, per his instructions, I went back to see Dr. Middleton. I told him about what had happened and what I had learned, and he pulled out his bible, gave me three more scriptures, and sent me home. Naturally, I searched these out as well, and for three more consecutive weeks I did the same, each time reporting to him what I had learned, and that the pain was leaving my body with each new learned revelation from scripture.
Paradigm Shift
By the end of 5 weeks, all my pain was gone, and he hadn’t adjusted anything at all to do with my arm or even my back; nor had he given me any pain relievers, prescriptions, or even natural supplements which he had available in his office. The only thing he did have to adjust was the axis of my neck, and my injured ankle, which had been broken a few years before. Other from that, he had simply directed me, by the Spirit, to the scriptural references that I needed to address my pain. My problem and the pain I was suffering from all came from my mindset; from fear and worry. That was the key issue. As soon as that mindset changed, my physical problem resolved itself.
This is because God, in His infinite wisdom, made the body capable of self-healing. However, that principle only operates in the right circumstance and environment. If we live in a toxic environment, and then add to that the intake of toxic foods to compliment atoxic thought life; we are overloaded. Try as our bodies might, we have overwhelmed and outmanned it. There is too much of a lethal combination, leading to an overload.
Reading the Signals
It is a signal that we haven’t learned enough about ourselves to live in a manner that is harmless to ourselves as well as others. Our Eco-footprint has literally crushed plants and organisms in our wake. We are simply not conscious enough about ourselves, and our Creator, or this beautiful environment He created for us. We are too self-centered and self-absorbed, and this sort of thinking causes disease. Aside from that, we have not awakened to accept the fact that we, individually, are responsible for our own selves...our own health. We are still placing too much trust in the medical community at large, relying on doctors to tell us about our own selves, and not taking the time to investigate and invest in our own health.
I hadn’t intended on going in this direction with this article, but apparently, that is what is needed for this first article on self-healing. Once we get a hold of this basic information, then God can take that information and open the doors to expand our understanding and knowledge, so that we can experience life in all its intended grandeur-the simple, sweet life God intended for us all to have.
